[cancer] Chemo session two, day two

Yesterday I managed to go all day without vomiting, and only one round of nausea. A great victory for me, and a great relief to Elizabeth Stephan (my caregiver this weekend) and the_child. I even ate some, and my weight has remained stable this time. On the minus side, I keep getting the hiccups, sometimes for no apparent reason whatsoever.

On the other hand, I?m also sleeping even more ? almost fourteen out of the last twenty-four hours, as well as getting occasional chills and flushes. This may be due to the new anti-nausea drug my oncologists put me on, Zyprexa. Zyprexa is also used to treat schizophrenia, as apparently schizophrenia and nausea use the same neural pathways. The side effects list is as long as your arm.

Also helpful, which I think I failed to mention yesterday, was my consultation with the dieticians whilst at the infusion center. My dietary restrictions come from three different directions, which was leaving me with ridiculously limited food options ? basically broth, meat, nuts and beans. We?ve clarified the reasoning behind the overlays and they were able to give me some wider options.

Very droopy today. Pump will come off about 11:45, then we?ll see how I do.
