Re: How to earn money in google adsense for newbies?

As for getting banned for clicking on ads - yes you will get banned if you click on your own ads.
Even if its not you but a family member. There is one member of our forum here who was banned because someone in his family clicked on ads without his knowledge.
If they find too many clicks coming from the same IP address they say its fraudelent clicks and ban you.
So you just need to be extra careful that you don't click on your own ads and don't tell family members about your sites.

All quiet in Iowa on the Palin, Perry front (Daily Caller)
The last few weeks have seen a lot of talk about dissatisfaction with the current Republican primary field and the possibility of a late bid by Texas Gov. Rick Perry or former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
But after a highly publicized bus tour, Iowa Republican Party insiders say Palin has been silent in their state, and that Perry hasn?t attempted to lay any groundwork there yet either.
For Palin to compete, the one-time vice presidential candidate and Tea Party star would need to campaign in the early caucusing state of Iowa and do well there to move on as a serious candidate. But aside from Peter Singleton, a volunteer leader at Organize4Palin in the state, her presence there is minimal.
According to three prominent Iowa Republicans, however, Palin?s camp has been completely silent of late. Both Tim Albrecht, spokesperson for Gov. Terry Branstad, and Dave Funk, co-chair of the largest county in the state (Polk County) told The Daily Caller the Palin camp has been completely silent.
Albrecht said that when it comes to Palin, things have been ?pretty quiet,? and there has been ?no contact from Palin.?
Funk, who is also a former Congressional candidate, told TheDC that he too, hasn?t heard anything from Palin.
Coincidentally, Funk also recently organized a recent Polk County fundraiser that featured speaker Minnesota Rep. and now presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.

Judy Davidson, GOP chair for Scott County ? a battleground county in the state that broke Republican in 2010 ? also told TheDC that there has been only silence on the Palin and Perry front. Though, she cautioned, ?that does not necessarily mean that they are not considering running.?
Perry is also said to be mulling a presidential bid. Though not entirely surprising, he hasn?t been making inroads in Iowa either, according to these three sources. Until just days ago, his key advisers ??Dave Carney and Rob Johnson ? were aligned with the Newt Gingrich campaign.
Still, said Funk, ?I am a bit surprised at this point that the Perry people are not trying to pick off the county Republican leadership.?

frances - Wii U Video Game System: Can it Win the Next Console ...

The unveiling of the Wii U at E3 2011 confirmed a point that?s been illustrated since the home console industry was resurrected in the ?80s: Nintendo does its own thing. After all, Nintendo?s independence is what brought motion controls to living rooms across America?and spawned a ?casual/core gamer? divide in its wake.
Since other concerns mushroomed on top of the Wii?s success, including Nintendo?s hesitation to throw itself behind online gaming and the digital marketplace, some of us expected Nintendo to reveal something a little more orthodox for the Wii U for the sake of placating traditionalists. What we got was a tablet controller, a piece of technology that defies tradition as it?s applied to game consoles.
At the same time, Nintendo?s press conference flashed a lot of third-party titles that should be familiar to core gamers: Batman: Arkham City, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Ninja Gaiden III: Razor?s Edge, among others. Digitized blood spattered across the Nokia Theater?s screen in a way we would have thought impossible for a Nintendo presentation only a few years ago.
So what we have here is a Nintendo system that still heavily utilizes motion controls and an easy touch-based interface for casual gamers?but also has a hefty third-party game library and a familiar control scheme for the core group. The Wii U may well manage to cater to everyone, which will propel the system to the front of the pack (again) come the next generation of consoles.
On the other hand, casual gamers may find themselves disinterested in the Wii U (free-to-play PC and social games have the casual market in a hammerlock), and core gamers are going to have to be sold on the Wii U?s controller. Though it?s a lightweight piece of technology and surprisingly comfortable, players who are used to the classic PlayStation 3 controller are not going to relish the idea of holding onto the Wii U?s tablet while playing through a fighting game. Moreover, the line-up of third party games that was paraded past the E3 audience looked familiar. By the time Arkham City comes to the Wii U, chances are we?ll have played it on the PS3 and/or Xbox 360. What will the Wii U version of the game add to an old experience, if anything? Will we care? Is the Wii U going to be picking up the husks of games we already played and tacking on a ?touch screen experience,? similar to how the Wii added waggle to far too many old PlayStation 2 games? Will the Wii U quickly take on the look of ?last gen? technology while Sony and Microsoft move on to something new?
The future of the Wii U might be fantastic, but it could just as easily be bleak. If you want to lay down a bet, however, consider Nintendo?s track record: It has the strength of its established franchises, plus whatever new ideas Miyamoto?s team will inevitably cook up for touch screen/television interaction. Not every single one of Nintendo?s systems has been a consistent number one on the sales chart, but the company rarely has a problem pitching its system to the masses. Doubtlessly it already has a game plan for selling us on the Wii U, and it?s almost inconceivable that the system will outright flop.
Whether or not the Wii U regains the long-term trust of core gamers is the real question, one that won?t receive an answer for a while yet.

Obama?s Florida Effort off to Slow Start?

Image via Wikipedia
Yesterday I wrote a post about how it?s all going to come down to Florida in 2012. I didn?t talk much about the fact that Obama has already spent quite a bit of time in the state, and forgot to mention the fact that the DNC chose a Florida Congresswoman as their national Chair.
No doubt, Democrats know full well they?ll have to fight for and win Florida if they?re to keep the White House. The state?s 29 electoral votes are key in what will be a huge fight over some 80 or so voters over all.
According to reports, energy and momentum for Obama isn?t yet there. In fact, his campaign is off to a terrible start.
The top level of the 2,200-seat concert hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts was entirely empty, as were the seats along the side of the second and third levels.
?The expectation was 900,? a Democratic official said, and more than 980 tickets were sold.
Tickets for the Gen 44 event started at $44, the official said.
This might be a good sign. It?s still early, but if Obama can?t find 2,200 $44 donors he?s got a problem.

Levee Building Key to Holding Back Floodwaters (ContributorNetwork)
Residents of Hamburg, Iowa, along the Missouri River are racing against time to build up a levee to try to prevent even more massive flooding. A 300-foot swath of an earthen levee was punctured as the river grew from heavy rains and melted snow.
Not only can huge levees be constructed to hold back large rivers, individual homeowners can construct their own levees to protect their property.
Sandbags
The most elementary form of making simple levees is with a lot of sandbags. The reason sand is a good alternative in building temporary levees is because the sand is pliable enough to form water-tight seals. For small amounts of water and just around doorways and small amounts of property, sandbags are good for temporary solutions to flooding.
The downside to making sandbags is that they are heavy. It takes a lot of people to make sandbags and their transport may be an issue as they can quickly weigh down the beds of trucks. If there are larger amounts of water headed towards a property, more drastic measures may have to be taken.
Earthen Levees
Popular Mechanics reports the key to making a larger levee is to have enough time and dirt to do so. If you have a large amount of land, finer grain dirt is the key to compacting the earth to make a waterproof levee.
The first thing that has to happen is you need to dig a ditch below ground level around the property you are trying to protect. The trench serves as a foundation of clay or other fine grain dirt. That way there is a less chance of water coming under the levee.
The critical step to making a levee is compacting dirt on top of the foundation as you pile on more dirt. Every six inches of earth piled on to the levee should be compacted before continuing.
Spacing
Depending on the amount of property you want to safeguard, you will want to leave enough space between the levee and your home or barn. There are several reasons for leaving enough space. In case you need to build the levee higher you will have time to do so as floodwaters rise.
If you need a higher levee, your base will have to be wider. The top of the levee should be like a pyramid as you compact the tops and sides of the levee as it builds up. Make the levee three times as wide as it is high so there is enough compact dirt between your place and the high water.
In a pinch, you should cover your homemade levee with plastic weighed down with sandbags for added impermeability. Because your levee is relatively new and temporary, dirt hasn't had time to naturally settle to offer full protection. You can still build the levee higher and keep the plastic on if you need to later.
