BUENOS AIRES, Argentina ? An Argentine prosecutor is criticizing a statement from Iran expressing willingness to help solve Argentina's worst terrorist attack.
Alberto Nisman says Iran's pledge to help is just empty words unless it hands over the Iranian suspects sought in the bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people on July 18, 1994.
A Sunday statement from Iran's foreign ministry refers to Monday's anniversary of the bombing and says Iran condemns terrorism. It also said Iran expresses sympathy for the victims' families and wants to help solve the case.
The statement adds that Iran's citizens have been unfairly accused and it has a duty to defend them.
