Welcome to the Weekend. It?s officially Summer and it?s an action packed drinking, shopping, music, and movie weekend. Unwind and enjoy the beautiful Barnsdall Art Park as the sun is setting, from the gated gardens in the West Lawn of the historic Hollyhock House. Silverlake Wine will present four selections of boutique, small production, artisanal wines from around the globe. Live music is back at the Malibu Family Wines tasting room. Grab a picnic basket and a bottle of wine from their tasting counter and enjoy live music in the beautiful hills of Malibu. The music starts on Friday night from 7-9pm and continues through the weekend. Shows are free and are 21 and over only. Hit up the cities only mobile shopping event at the Shop Lot. Saturday?s event is a fundraiser taking place at St Vincent De Paul (210 North Ave 21, Los Angeles). Pick up everything from too cool for school supplies, clothing, shoes, and accessories. Food trucks will be slinging some tasty bites, so bring some cash.
Summer Food Festival at The Grove

The 3rd annual Summer Food Festival hosted by Chef Susan Feniger will take place at The Grove from 10am-6pm. Eat|See|Hear moves it?s outdoor cinema returns to Santa Monica this weekend. Complete with live music and food trucks. Doors open at 5:30, with live music by George Glass at 7pm, then the movie starts at 8:30 sharp. Tickets are $10 and are available online.

Levitated Mass
Los Angeles (11am)
The news painstakingly covered it for days upon days. Now it?s time to see what this 340-ton boulder is all about at the opening day of LACMA?s Levitated Mass installation. Heizer conceived of the artwork in 1968, but discovered an appropriate boulder only decades later, in Riverside County, California. Residents in zip codes along the route, which is just about everyone from Riverside to Los Angeles, gets free admission to the museum through July 1.
Qupe? Winery Tasting and Appetizers
Alhambra (4-7pm)
Vinos at Trios is hosting the wines of Qupe? Winery, specializing in Rhone-style wines from the Bien Nacido Vineyard in Santa Maria, the Sawyer Lindquist Vineyard in the Edna Valley farmed biodynamically, and the Ibarra-Young Vineyard in Los Olivos where they farm organically. All wines are paired with apps like Squash Blossom pizza, Sake Oysters, and Dried Fig and Pear Salad. This event is $25, plus tip.
The Vendys

The Vendys are a yearly street food cook-off that, since 2005, has determined the best street chef in NYC. The Second Annual LA street food showcase will be an intense cook-off between the best sidewalk chefs taking place at Pan Pacific Park, right next to the Grove. Until May 24th, they?ll be taking public nominations. Then 8 food vendors will battle it out for the ultimate in street food competition and take home the Vendy Cup. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, but the general public is invited to enjoy great street food, wine and beer. Early bird tickets available for $30 here.
Firestone Walker Tasting

Head to Beer Belly in K-Town for a special edition of their ?One Night Stand? tastings.
